DOG BLUFF BULLDOGGES – HEALTH STATEMENT
and CONTRACT
Our Sires & Dams are in EXCELLENT HEALTH. They receive the best of care from the moment they become
OURS. We protect our dogs against heartworms, fleas/ticks, intestinal worms and
parasites, rabies, and other diseases as directed by our veterinarian. We feed HIGH QUALITY FOOD with NO WHEAT, NO CORN, and NO SOY. Your
puppy is HEALTHY when he leaves our home. Your puppy will have received his first set of immunizations
and will require the next set approximately 3-to-4 weeks from Adoption Day. Our 72-hour Health Guarantee encourages you to visit your veterinarian for a “well-baby”
exam. OUR PUPPIES ARE SOLD AS FAMILY PETS. We do NOT sell puppies for breeding purposes! We recommend spay/neuter at age 5 to 6 months.
Your Puppy’s Health Care Prior to Adoption Day includes
the following:
* WORMED on schedule, starting at age 2 weeks
* First set of Puppy Immunizations / Vaccines
* Docked Tail, unless pup has a screw-tail
* Well-Baby Exam by Our Veterinarian
* Lots of TLC & Socialization
* Bath on Adoption Day
You will be given a zip-lock
baggie of Dog Food that your puppy has been raised on. We use and
RECOMMEND DIAMOND NATURALS Chicken & Rice Adult dry food, found in most Tractor Supply Co. stores. On or before Adoption Day, you
will receive details on feeding your puppy and how to change foods if you wish to do so. The price of high-quality food
is less than the price of unnecessary visits to your vet due to poor nutrition. Your dog's diet directly affects
the skin, coat, eyes, energy levels, organs and overall HEALTH of your dog.
If you are unable to find Diamond Naturals, please let us know. We will
supply you with a list of comparable foods that are easily found at PetSmart.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not sell our puppies on a “trial basis.” If you are unsure about adopting a puppy for the DURATION OF ITS LIFETIME, please look elsewhere. We prefer
doing business with clients who have researched our bulldog breed(s) and are ready to add a bulldog to their household. Please evaluate your home setting before considering adoption, as puppies need stability
and consistency in order to thrive. IF YOU OWN OTHER DOGS, it is YOUR responsibility
to make sure that your other dog(s) will accept a new puppy.
PLEASE PROTECT YOUR
PUPPY: UNTIL YOUR PUPPY HAS RECEIVED ALL PUPPY VACCINES, HE IS AT
RISK! Distemper, Parvo, Canine Influenza, and other common diseases can be fatal to your new puppy. Any location that welcomes pets can be a potential nightmare of germs and/or diseases. While you may be conscientious about your dog’s health care, there
are folks out there with no regard
for proper immunization. Many fatal diseases are transferred by human shoes and animal paws.
Other diseases may be contracted through simple contact with an infected animal. Unfortunately, some diseases are airborne;
thus, our reason for extreme caution. WE
HIGHLY RECOMMEND Obedience and Socialization Classes, but please schedule training AFTER your veterinarian has administered the recommended puppy vaccines.
H E A L T H
G U A R A N T E E:
We WILL NOT breed a dog known to have health
problems! We welcome you to contact our veterinarian
for reference on us and about our program. We follow a strict regimen of preventive maintenance on all of our dogs and puppies. It
is our hope that you will follow the advice and instruction of your veterinarian, beginning immediately upon the
adoption of your puppy. You have 72 HOURS (including Adoption Day) to
have your puppy examined by your veterinarian. IF your puppy is diagnosed
with a heart, lung, liver or bone malfunction within the first 72 hours of adoption, you must bring the puppy back to us immediately. Your puppy must be described in detail (sex, color/markings, birth date) along with
a clearly-stated diagnosis on your veterinarian's documentation. If our veterinarian
agrees with your veterinarian’s diagnosis, we will refund the adoption fee, excluding the non-refundable security deposit.
To date, we have never had a puppy returned due to poor health. We are thankful for healthy, hearty puppies, produced from healthy sires & dams. This health guarantee
does NOT cover intestinal worms or parasites, mites, skin or eye-related conditions, or "outie"
belly-buttons. We will NOT refund veterinary, travel, or shipping expenses. This health guarantee expires
seventy-two (72) hours after Adoption.

SECURITY DEPOSITS are NON-REFUNDABLE, regardless of the situation. Your adoption fee BALANCE MUST BE PAID
BY THE TIME PUP IS AGE 6 WEEKS. If anyone other than adoptive client is to pick up the pup, the entire adoption
fee plus any shipping-related expenses MUST be PAID IN FULL, IN ADVANCE of pup leaving Dog Bluff. NOTE: When your puppy leaves Angela’s arms, that puppy
becomes your responsibility. Please interview carefully with transporters, for
your own peace of mind.
ADOPTION
DAY for Dog Bluff puppies = age 6 to 7 weeks; puppies are completely weaned
and ready to go at age 6 weeks. Please plan ahead for this time frame. For safety reasons, we hire house/dog-sitters when we must be away from home. Therefore, IF a puppy
is required to stay past 7 weeks of age, the adoptive client will be charged a boarding fee of $50 per extra week. Boarding fees are necessary to cover the expense of dog-sitters, health care (heartworm-flea-tick prevention,
wormer, vaccines), food and supplies.
Exceptions to the 7-week Rule:
1)
If puppies
are over 7 weeks old when you call to reserve yours, you will have 1 week to pick up your puppy before boarding fees begin.
2)
If your puppy
is flying home, Angela will work with the transporter to schedule an appropriate flight date that complies with airline requirements.
(No Boarding Fee)
3)
If you hire
a Ground Transporter to drive your puppy home, Angela will work with that person accordingly. (No Boarding Fee)
I understand this ENTIRE Health Statement / Contract, and do hereby agree to all terms
above.
